Google IconIt all started with a Gmail account, beta version. In a matter of months, Google included lots of intrusive tools in the web mail client which jeopardized my privacy: a chat feature displaying people with whom I didn’t want to chat or let them know when I was actually online, ads related to words in my personal emails, and then this irritating Buzz, Twitter clone. It was also my fault; playing with the tentacles of Google, I ended up well tied up. The Google dashboard displays all the information associated with my account: my Blogger blog, my Picasa pictures, my email, chats, buzzes, calendar entries, Google documents, profile… And I want to have everything under control.

This post gives you tips to avoid having uninvited guests in your Google chat, to eliminate irritating ads and buzzes in Gmail, and to have the information in your Google account under control.
